ABOUT US
The Department of English is one of the oldest departments in the university, synchronic to the inception of post-graduate studies in the university itself. The Board of studies have introduced CBCS syllabus in UG and PG both, and students get multiple choices to arrange their courses in the scorecards. In fact, it is the first department in the university to adopt “Cafeteria Approach” in the curriculum.
The Department emphasizes on multi-disciplinary and multi-media interfaces between theory, practice, and art-forms while designing the courses each semester. Gender studies, Musicology, Green studies, Performing Arts and Political sciences are well integrated into the syllabi. All the available resources, technologies, and pedagogies of contemporary academic world are well utilized, along with more conventional teaching-learning methods.
